What is GEMTEX GEM100?

GEMTEX GEM100 is a fire extinguishing system inert gas IG-100 (100% Nitrogen) designed for protection total flooding in areas with high fire risk and the need to protect critical assets. This system was developed by Gemtex Sdn. Bhd. and has been designed according to international standards NFPA 2001 – Clean Agent Fire Extinguishing Systems.

In contrast to chemical-based systems, gemtex gem100 It works without leaving residue, does not damage electronic equipment, and is safe for use in populated areas. In Indonesia, this product officially distributed exclusively by Adiwarna as the sole distributor of GEMTEX.

GEMTEX GEM100 System Working Principle

System gemtex gem100 extinguish the fire by lower oxygen levels indoors until it is below the threshold that allows the combustion process.

When the system is activated:

  • Gas Pure nitrogen (IG-100) released from a high-pressure cylinder
  • Oxygen in the protected area is reduced in a controlled manner
  • The fire was extinguished without damaging any equipment or the structure of the room.

Due to the density of GEM100 slightly lower than the air, this gas tends to fill the area middle to top of the room, making it ideal for spaces with a fire risk in the ceiling, false ceiling, or upper area, as well as locations with the potential for agent leakage below.

Main Components of the GEMTEX GEM100 System

1. Inert Gas Agent IG-100

The extinguishing agent is in the form of 100% Nitrogen, Which:

  • It is a natural gas in the atmosphere.
  • Colorless and odorless
  • Not electrically conductive
  • Does not produce decomposition products

2. Cylinder Assembly

IG-100 gas is stored in a seamless steel tube which:

  • Filled under pressure 200 bar or 300 bar at a temperature of 15°C
  • Available in capacity 80 liters and 140 liters
  • Manufactured to standards ISO 9809
  • Has been through testing TPED

3. Valve Assembly

Valve works on the principle pressure differential piston and available in:

  • Discharge Valve
  • Solenoid Discharge Valve

Valves can be combined with manual or pneumatic actuators.

4. Actuator System

  • Manual Actuator with safety pin to prevent accidental activation
  • Pneumatic Actuator with pneumatic piston
  • Pneumatic Manual Actuator for mechanical and pneumatic activation

5. Discharge Nozzle

Discharge nozzles are available in angles:

  • 180°
  • 360°

Nozzle selection is determined based on system design, flow rate requirements, and gas distribution patterns.
