Dual Safety: Visual Indicator and Electronic Supervisory Switch
Safety is the top priority, and the BV01 provides two layers of valve status verification:
- Visual Position Indicator: On top of the gear operator, a large, clear indicator displays the valve disc’s position, showing whether it is OPEN or SHUT. This allows for quick visual inspection.
- Supervisory (Tamper) Switches: This is an active safety feature. The BV01 is equipped with two built-in tamper switches that are wired to the Fire Alarm Control Panel (FACP). If an unauthorized person attempts to turn the handwheel to close the valve, these switches send a “supervisory” or “tamper” signal to the panel. This instantly alerts building personnel that the valve is being manipulated, preventing the system from being disabled unnoticed.
