BMKG visits to review the Inergen fire extinguishing system!

Inergen Fire Extinguishing System

Purpose of Visit to PT Adiwarna

The Inergen Fire Extinguishing System was the main focus of the visit by the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) to PT Adiwarna Anugerah Abadi. The visit aimed to thoroughly review the effectiveness and safety of the Inergen Fire Extinguishing System as an environmentally friendly fire extinguishing solution. BMKG officials and experts in the fields of fire safety and security were present to gain a deeper understanding of this technology.

The Role of BMKG in Vital Facility Security

BMKG, as the agency responsible for meteorology, climatology, and geophysics, also plays an important role in ensuring the safety and security of vital facilities throughout Indonesia. One aspect of concern is the firefighting technology used in various facilities, especially those located in high-risk areas such as data centers and servers that play an important role in storing weather and climate data.

Direct Review of Inergen System Performance

Inergen Fire Suppression System was chosen as one of the main topics of this visit because this technology is considered to have advantages in terms of efficiency and safety. Inergen is a gas mixture consisting of nitrogen, argon, and carbon dioxide, which works by reducing the oxygen level in the fire area to a level that cannot support combustion, but is still safe for humans.

Evaluation of the Effectiveness and Safety of the Inergen System

The BMKG visit aimed to observe firsthand the performance of the Inergen Fire Extinguishing System and its potential implementation in various BMKG facilities with high fire risk. Additionally, the visit sought to gain insights into how the system operates under real-world conditions and assess its effectiveness in safely extinguishing fires without damaging sensitive equipment such as servers and other electronic devices. The simulation involved placing a person inside a cube-shaped box and igniting a fire inside it. After 30 seconds, the Inergen system would release the agent and extinguish the fire without causing the person inside to experience breathing difficulties.

BMKG’s expectations for the implementation of the Inergen Fire Extinguishing System

BMKG hopes that by studying and understanding this technology, they will be able to install Inergen in their facilities, thereby improving protection for their critical assets. In addition, this visit is also expected to provide valuable input for the development of safety and firefighting guidelines in Indonesia.

Efforts to Improve Safety Standards with the Inergen Fire Extinguishing System

The BMKG’s visit to review the Inergen Fire Suppression System is an important step in ensuring that the technology used to protect vital facilities in Indonesia remains at the forefront in terms of efficiency and safety. By gaining a deeper understanding of this fire suppression system, the BMKG hopes to continue improving safety standards and protecting critical infrastructure from the threat of fire.
