Inergen merupakan campuran gas yang terdiri dari nitrogen, argon, dan karbondioksida, yang bekerja dengan cara menurunkan kadar oksigen di area kebakaran hingga ke tingkat yang tidak dapat mendukung terjadinya kebakaran, namun tetap aman bagi manusia.

The BMKG visit aimed to observe firsthand the performance of the Inergen Fire Extinguishing System and its potential implementation in various BMKG facilities with high fire risk. Additionally, the visit sought to gain insights into how the system operates under real-world conditions and assess its effectiveness in safely extinguishing fires without damaging sensitive equipment such as servers and other electronic devices. The simulation involved placing a person inside a cube-shaped box and igniting a fire inside it. After 30 seconds, the Inergen system would release the agent and extinguish the fire without causing the person inside to experience breathing difficulties.
